  • Australia's Swinburne University-Nawaloka College have first graduation 46 Graduates; 4 Scholarships to Swinburne awarded Oct 14, 2015 - The Kingsbury Colombo

    October 14th 2015 – Colombo, Sri Lanka: One of Australia's most highly recognised seats of higher education, Swinburne University of Technology which inked a partnership with leading provider of globally recognised educational qualifications, Nawaloka College of Higher Studies, conducted its maiden graduation ceremony under the aegis of Acting High Commissioner to Australia, Tim Huggins and Senior Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa Professor Malik Ranasinghe.

    46 young people successfully completed Diploma of Business or Diploma of Engineering as well as the Swinburne Foundation Year in Business and Engineering. In addition, four graduates earned scholarships to Swinburne, recognizing their high performance. NCHS too presented three scholarships in the Diplomas for Business and Engineering. In total nine top students were also recognised for their high achievements.

    The Information evening event was held at NCHS Campus on the 23rd June from 5.30 to 7.30 pm. A lot of students and parents who are looking out for future education opportunities participated at this informative event and it was an ideal opportunity for students looking to explore study options that best suit their academic and career goals. The Information Evening was the perfect opportunity to plan their education paths well ahead of time.

    The event was a comprehensive guide to pursuing higher education at Swinburne University of Technology or at Cal State, Monterey Bay and a great opportunity to discover what is on offer at NCHS.

    The Future Minds Exhibition 2015 was held on the 19th ,20th & 21st June 2015, from 9.00am -6.00pm at the BMICH . It is currently the most prestigious higher education and career guidance forum in the island.   • First semester-based 8 Ball Pool Tournament Organized by The Student Council of Nawaloka College of Higher Studies May 09, 2015 - NCHS Campus

    The Student Council of Nawaloka College of Higher Studies held their first semester-based 8 Ball Pool Tournament on the 9th of May 2015, at the College premises. The occasion was graced by the CEO of NCHS, Mr. Victor Rajeevan and the Dean of NCHS, Dr. Alan Robertson along with the staff and students of the College. Representatives from the Sri Lankan Billiards Association, the only internationally qualified Sri Lankan referee, Mr. M. N. Ameen, Mr. S. M. Ibrahim and Mr. B. A. S. Balapitiya contributed to the event as referees. The tournament was held in three categories: Singles, Doubles and Couples with the participation of both students and staff members. The following are the winners and runners up of each category:

    Singles:

    • Winner: Bomith Nalinda (Staff – IT Executive)
    • Runner up: Chevinda Karunanayake (Diploma – Engineering)

    Doubles:

    NCHS Open Day took place in Jan 2015 with informative and interactive sessions by the international faculty, campus tours, competitions as well as raffle draws. The participants got the opportunity to gain first-hand information on Swinburne degree pathways and numerous degree options, experience the student life, explore the campus facilities, and learn more about scholarships and student loan facilities on offer for NCHS students.

  • Dazzling Christmas December 22, 2014 - OZO, Colombo

    Dazzling Christmas Organized by the Student Council, NCHS held its first Christmas party on 22nd December, 2014 at Ozo, Colombo. “Dazzling Christmas” kicked off with Christmas carols followed by dance, music, raffle draws, competitions and games with fabulous prizes. Students, faculty and staff at NCHS, joined together to celebrate the season, marking yet another milestone of the campus.

  • NCHS at Senehasa Youth Camp organized by “FRIENDS” December 06, 2014 - Sarvodaya, Bandaragama

    NCHS recently visited the Senehasa Youth Camp 2014 organized by “FRIENDS” that brought together 100 children living in Children’s Homes and Child Development Centres across the country. The Staff of NCHS spent the evening with the children at the Youth Camp, engaging them in games and fun activities. As part of its CSR initiative, NCHS presented gifts and cricket gear to the children and announced a scholarship program to pursue higher education for high achieving students.

    NCHS recently partnered with the Foundation of Goodness to donate sports gear to some of the schools in Northern Sri Lanka.This was carried out as part of its initiatives to promote sports in disadvantaged communities in the country.

  • Ceremonial opening of NCHS Colombo campus October 21, 2014 - NCHS campus

    NCHS campus was declared open on the 21st of October 2014, by the Chief Guest, Hon. S. B. Dissanayake, the Minister of Higher Education and HE Robyn Mudie, the Australian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, who attended the ceremony as Guest of Honour. Located in the heart of Colombo, the NCHS campus houses modern state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities including a purpose built engineering laboratory, a modern computer laboratory and a resource-oriented library. NCHS has exclusively collaborated with Swinburne University of Technology to offer world class Swinburne degree pathways in business, engineering and IT streams.

Students can meet the representatives of Swinburne College and plan their Swinburne University Degree qualification on the 30th and 31st August at the NCHS stall at SLECC.

    The prestigious Swinburne University of Technology entered an exclusive collaboration with NCHS, offering Swinburne Pathways program to Sri Lankan students.
